Recurrent Pregnancy loss
This presentation was prepared for physicians in practice and in training. It contains valuable information that can be understood by other health care professionals as well as lay people. Recurrent pregnancy loss (miscarriage) is a serious problem that has not been addressed adequately by most obstetricians. Although it is true that many patients have experienced one or more losses, it does not make it a "normal event" as some clinicians consider it. Many obstetricians will not attempt to investigate the reasons for a lost pregnancy until the patient loses 3 or more pregnancies. This is an old barbaric concept that should be abandoned. In today's environment, most women start their pregnancies at a late stage in their lives and any one loss might be their last one. Read the slides carefully and you will learn what is the correct way to manage patients who have experienced one or more miscarriages.
