Dear Dr. A. Kofinas,
I am compelled to write you my sentiments of how fortunate my family and I are this holiday season. Our greatest gift is our newest addition to our family, Jordan Thomas Kane. Three and a half years ago you never gave up on me and aided me in maintaining my pregnancy with Justin Daniel. Returning to the Fertility Institute soon after to try again for our second child was difficult. I suffered some despair in the process, but I knew my time would come again and it did. In February 2009 I found the courage and determination to begin the IVF treatment again and was fortunate to become pregnant with yet another healthy boy. Through the ups and downs, you have been there with early detection, blood tests, sonograms, careful studies, articulation with associate doctor and staff, and a comfort I felt each time I saw you at a scheduled visit. I knew I was always in the best hands for medical care.
I just want you to know how thankful I am to you and for what you have helped me accomplish. I know I would never have had my boys if not for you and your staff. What you do each day is a medical miracle. Your devotion to women, like me, who are vulnerable, scared, distraught and yet hopeful that they too, will be a mom one day is commendable. The long hours of patient care and research are endless for you, but never unnoticed. I have entrusted in you a belief that has come true for me and the genuine care and concern you have displayed for me will never be forgotten.
During this Christmas holiday, I want you to know how much you've given me and how thankful I am for you in my life. My boys will forever know your name and what you have helped me to achieve. Although this road I've traveled has not been an easy one, I could have never persevered without a strong doctor like yourself. I only hope you know how important and valuable you are to many families like mine. Even though our paths may never cross again, I know how you'll keep on making the impossible... possible, for every couples "pursuit of happiness". Luckily, you have given me mine! You will be with me forever. I love you always.
Sincerely,
Elisa Kan...
