Dr. Kofinas,

Where do I begin? I am so grateful to you.  It was four years ago that I was introduced to you.  My first pregnancy with so many emotions.  So many fears.  So much excitement.  I wanted to do everything possible to ensure my child would be healthy and safe.  I wanted the best for my baby.  I found that in you.

Our first meeting was overwhelming.  Scared I may not be able to give my baby all he needed.  I was immediately comforted and at ease upon meeting you.  My baby would be in the hands of a caring, compassionate and brilliant man whose goal was to care for my unborn child.

It was not until my last pregnancy that I realized how truly lucky I was to be in your care.  From early on we encountered difficulties.  It seemed each visit beginning at twenty weeks we had new issues to encounter.  I managed to remain calm knowing you were there to care for us.  You were always honest and straight forward with me.  You would give me the best and worst case scenarios.  I appreciated that.  It allowed me to be prepared for all situations.   It was at the end of pregnancy I realized how amazing you and your staff are and how incredibly lucky I was to be in your care.

The most amazing thing you did for me was get us into Cornell (while on your vacation!).  I really believe you saved my daughter's life.  The entire Cornell experience was wonderful under such stressful, scary and devastating circumstances.  The doctors were great.  My OB was very attentive and the cardiologist and surgeon were untouchable.  The entire NICU and PICU experience was amazing.  They all treated us like we were the most important, like my daughter was their top priority.  It was the longest four weeks of my life, but through the entire experience I knew I was in the right place.  I did the right thing for my daughter-this was thanks to you.  Had I not known about her CardiacCardiac:
Of, near, or relating to the heart.
defects life would have been so different.  My baby girl is now home with us-healthy, safe and beautiful.

I have learned so much from you and I admire all you do, not only in the effort and time you put into your patients but also in the education of your colleagues and staff.  You surround yourself with a staff that is outstanding and knowledgeable.  They are always caring and kind.  Diane was all-around wonderful, I looked forward to seeing her every week.  Christine was always available to answer my questions and was especially helpful in getting us into Cornell.  They say you are only as good as those you surround yourself by and you have succeeded!

I hope to someday visit you again 2x a month (although my husband says NO WAY!).  If there is anything I can ever do for you I am always available.  If a patient experiences anything I have been through-the loss of a child in-utero or the stress of a child needing surgery upon birth, feel free to give my name as someone to speak to.

Thank you again for all you have done for my family.  I have TWO beautiful, healthy children.  My son is brilliant and my daughter is so sweet.  Thank you for watching over them-you are wonderful.

                                                                                                            Gratefully,

                                                                                                            Nicole and Tony Ami..
